EARLY 19TH CENTURY FRENCH CONFIT POT

A beautiful early 19th century French Confit pot with a lovely colour glaze. It has a slightly different shape to the normal ones as it's earlier in date. These were used to store and cool food before fridges, the bottom half which is unglazed would be buried in the ground with the top sealed. This would then keep the contents cool. The cracks are only superficial and are only on the glaze and not the pot. The glaze is very stable.
